Hi Jason, Sally, Jarrod and Team,
Thanks very much for the excellent service you’ve given us, supporting our Project Kaka monitoring work in the Hutt WCA over the past few years. Our field teams always appreciate the professional, puntual service you provide and the high safety standards you set. The helicopter is always a very welcome sight after a few long days in the field, particularly on the days when the weather is threatening to pack in! We look forward to continuing to work with you in the future.
Regards Nikki & the team at Greater Wellington Regional Council
Very professional job on the frost protection at Martinborough. Appreciate it very much.
Cheers, Michael Lamont
Hey Sally & Jason
Thanks very much for the photos. Another great week in the bush. Stags didn’t quite co-operate, but that’s just the way it is. Drac is the perfect spot. Also like to thank Jason for the good look around on the fly in & fly out. Much appreciated, see you next year.
Regards Peter Beckett
Hi Jason and Sally
Many thanks for the photos, awesome. The boys at their photogenic best! Also thanks for the great trip in and out of Drac. As always we appreciate the way you look after us and make the trip a great experience.
The guys feel after all the years a letter of thanks is in order. So on behalf of Pete, Randall, Darryl, Kev, Koru and myself we would like to formally thank yourself and the rest of the team, past and present, at Amalgamated Helicopters for years of safe professional service to our hunting parties. We would also like to acknowledge our awareness that sometimes Amalgamated Helicopters provide an extended service to our group.
Thanks once again, Cheers, Jeff Ferguson
The family gave a helicopter experience to my Dad, Bill Sangster, for an 80th Birthday present. Jason juggled his morning around a couple of days ago to fit us in in what he termed as one of the half dozen days of the year that the Tararua’s really turn it on. It was mind blowing spectacular and Steve, Dad and I loved every minute of it. Loved the flight, the stunning scenery, Jason’s limitless local knowledge and the lengths he went to to make this a trip of a lifetime for Dad (us too!). So appreciated, Jason and Sally, you guys were great and we’ll be back!!!
Di and Steve Norman
Hi guys, Thanks for your super service, it was both professional and very friendly. Local knowledge was second to none. Even though we did not see or shoot a deer, the time in the hills was just great. We will certainly be back. Till then all the best.
Maarten & Irene Verschuuren
Cheers Jason and Jarrod awesome job. The gorse looks a bit sick already.

A big thanks to the team at Amalgamated Helicopters, for flying the SAR, friends and fellow hunters into the search area we were covering and scouring tight creeks and gullies, looking for our lost son. You would have been extremely busy already, faring hunters into the hills for the roar period.
Weather and terrain conditions were difficult to say the least, but you didn’t give up, only discontinuing the search, once word came through, that he had walked out under is own steam.
You played a big part in helping put our worst fears to rest.
Thanks again, Geoff and Jennie Lindsay.
I’ve been flying into the Tararua’s with these guys for twenty years. They are consummate professionals, and 2012 was no exception. I’m already looking forward to the 2013 Roar trip. Keep up the great work guys.
Thanks for your super service! Jared and Dan were professional, friendly and set us up for a fantastic day, flying 7 people and kayaks into Waitewaewae so we could paddle down the Upper Otaki gorge. We had a ball and I wouldn’t want to even think about how hard walking/carrying in would have been. Cheers Jason and Sally, look forward to next time.
As a surprise package for a family on their Mum’s 50th what a buzz. Two of whom are afraid of heights which were kept at bay. Thanks so much for coming and picking them up and dropping them back at Tinui Station. They had a blast. Also for taking into consideration the deteriorating weather and offering a different but just as exciting scenic tour around the Wairarapa.

Pretty smart looking upgrade guys. To anyone looking at this who has not flown with AH I have 3 words for you….professional, friendly and customer focused. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. Cheers.
Roar 2011, 10th April, Jason and Jarod are a great team and the info they gave us prior to our hunt was exceptional. This was one of the best trips me and my 9 year old have been on yet. 2012 Roar can’t wait, you would have to tie me down to stop me from flying with jas or jarod.Friendly team, thanks again guys, Keep up the great work.

Dear Jason Just a quick note to say thank you very much for a fantastic morning flying and fishing in the Tararuas. It was my job to arrange the pre morning activities for the groom, grooms-men and Father of the Groom. You pulled together an amazing morning full of fishing, walking (not too much) swimming and topped it off with Paua and Venison sandwiches. I wouldn’t hesitate to fly with you again and am happy to recommend your company to any prospective customers.

Hi guys, Just wanted to say a big thank you for the ride in to Arete on Friday, and for taking the car to the road end – keys in the boot and all! To be honest, I hadn’t realised kiriwhakapapa was so far from where you guys are at, so really appreciated you literally “going the extra mile”. Our time in the hills was a mixed bag. First half of the trip was excellent. We had great weather up at Arete, and managed to bag a wee 10-pointer behind Pukematewai on Saturday. Second half was not so good, as we took a “short cut” down to Arete Forks via Arete Stream. Turns out there are some big waterfalls in there! We spent the night on the side of the hill, then finally managed to sidle the falls the next day, which made for a big walk out. Needless to say, we’ll be getting the chopper both ways next time!
Thanks again, Andrew and Campbell
Good morning. Just a short email from the residents of Mangatoetoe to thank you for your efforts on Saturday. We realise it is a job to you, but we also realise it was extremly windy and must have been getting quite extreme and getting quite hairy flying. You probably saved a few houses, ours being one of them. Once again thank you.
Kind Regards Terry O’Brien and residents of Mangatoetoe, New Zealand
6 years ago I worked with Jason and Sally. The experience served me well as now I’m an Air Transport Pilot flying 18 seat, Twin engined IFR helicopters to oilrigs in Australia I often credit Jason and Sallys professionalism, safety and service both in business and in person as the benchmark in helicopter operations. If you are considering using a helicopter in NZ and safety and value are your core values call Jas and Sal FIRST.

Very friendly and expert service. You can have total confidence in the pilots when flying in or out of the Tararua Ranges in difficult weather conditions.
We have flowen with JD on a couple of occasions now to go hunting and think JD is a great guy and great pilot, many thanks, we will be back.
Trev & Brett Johnson
I’ve been flying with JD, Sally and Co. for coming up to 10 years. The experience has always been brilliant for me, my clients or mates. I’d recommend Amalgamated Heli to anyone looking for an unforgettable trip into the Ranges – whether hunting, fishing, or sightseeing.
The Team at AH make it easy to get equipment from lengths of perspex roofing to 45 kg gas bottles and staff safely and effectively into all areas of the remote Wairarapa where maintenance is carried out on huts , tracks and structures. This family based business would, in my opinion, be one of the top in NZ!

Cool website and great helicopters.
I have had a couple of trips with amalgamated, during the last couple of roars.I have always had a friendly greeting, and always felt looked after. Knowing that i’m in safe hands, i look forward to many more trips with amalgamated helicopters.

We booked a flight to hunt red stag with J.D. and his crew. We were very impressed with his operation, not only did he take us into spectacular country, his knowledge of the area and the red stags was phenomenal! He operated with safety foremost on his mind. I would recommend anyone coming from the U.S to hunt red stag to consider contacting J.D.

We were very pleased with our flight into Neill Forks, and the sight-seeing on the way. We will be flying with amalgamated again!

I was very impressed with the service and communication from your company. Procedures were followed in line with Air Quality Policy and Codes Of Practice and GIS data on sprayed areas was provided to maintain our records.

Thanks for fitting our party in around fires, servicing etc. Met our requirements to a T. Andersons is a magic spot and everyone was able to do a bit of their own thing. The views from behind the hut are awesome and the flight in was also a great experience.

Thank You to all the crew at Amalgamated Helicopters. We were married in Jan 08, And you flew our bridal party to our wedding ceremony which added a unique & special touch to the day. We have had so many wonderful comments from family & friends about how memorable our arrival was. The staff were helpful & friendly especially to some very nervous bridesmaids & an excited bride. the boys really enjoyed their scenic flight before hand and have been telling all their mates about it.
Thanks Richard & Megan Hewitt
My mates & I have been flying into the Tararuas, once a year, over the past 7 years with Amalgamated Helicopters. We are not hard-core bushmen, so we really appreciate the mobility and access that helicopters give. Each time we go is special for us because JD & his team make sure we get in & out safely and he puts us into great hunting & fishing spots. If you are after some full on adventure, then give these guys a call.
Just like to say a big thanks to all at Amalgamated Helicopters. I was the tramper in the article on the news page. By the afternoon once out of the bush I was pretty much unable to see, so very much appreciate their timely and very professional flying!
Having hired Amalgamated Helicopters for agricultural spraying I found them to be very professional. I’ve also used their services for recreation and have been most impressed with their enthusiasm, knowledge of the Tararua’s and bush flying skills.
