Protecting the native habitat of the Wairarapa Moana wetland
Over a number of years we have been working on a project to protect and restore the native habitat and ecosystems of the Wairarapa Moana wetland. Controlling invasive willows has been a key part of this work.
We have been working closely with a number of organisations including the Department of Conservation, Greater Wellington Regional Council, South Wairarapa District Council, Ngati Kahungunu ki Wairarapa, Rangitane o Wairarapa and Papawai and Kuhunui marae’s. If you would like more info on this project please visit www.waiwetlands.org.nz.
It’s great to be part of a project to help restore our beautiful Wairarapa region!
